Expert Staff of the Ministry of Agriculture in the Field of Foreign Trade Ir. Banun Harpini, MS.c said that the Indonesian government especially in agriculture really appreciated the steps and efforts made by PT. Ori Ginalnest Indonesia.
“As we know that this bird’s nest is very native to Indonesia, the best in Indonesia, organic so that it can become Indonesia’s flagship export product.
In 2018, the national export value of swallow nests reached no less than 40 trillion, and this government made swallow nests as the second leading commodity after CPO, said Banun.
She admitted, the Indonesian government was very supportive of the efforts taken by businesses in bird’s nests.
“Indeed we also continue to encourage that later we will not only export in the form of raw material products but we also want to develop the processing industry in the country. Speaking of this processing industry, swiftlet nests have become food, cosmetics and medicine,” explained Banun.
With the production process, it will become an added value so that the government also encourages exporters to develop the swallow industry.
“China is the main Indonesian agricultural and food product market exported for agricultural products, for that we always continue to develop both the nature of negotiations, and in business interactions,” she said.
China’s trade policy especially for food exports is more open because it has become a manufacturing country rather than an import food trade policy.
“This bird’s nest is a product of biological natural resources, we must be careful in developing swallow’s nest production,” added Banun.
On the same occasion the Head of the Industry and Trade Office of North Sumatra Province, Zonny Waldi also appreciated this event which brought together 14 countries.
“So far our mainstay of exports is CPO with rubber, where in recent years many exports have tended to fall and we are proud, swallow bird exports have been trending up from last year,” said Zonny.
He hoped that the increase in export volume will also have an impact on employment.
